May 2022 - Panelist, 401(a)(9) Proposed Regulations on Required Minimum Distributions from Retirement PlansAmerican Bar Association 2022 Tax Section Annual Meeting (Washington DC).  Jewelie presented on the proposed 401(a)(9) required minimum distribution regulations with Laura Warshawsky, Acting Deputy Associate Chief Counsel (Employee Benefits) - Employee Benefits, Exempt Organizations, and Employment Taxes.

July 2021 - Panelist, DOL Cybersecurity Regulations.  Church Alliance, Core Lawyer Working Group Summer Meeting (virtual).  Jewelie presented on the Department of Labor's cybersecurity guidance issued in April 2021.

April 2021 - Presenter, Employee Benefit Issues in the Purchase and Sale of A Business.  Minnesota CLE Webinar. Jewelie discussed highlights of the chapter she authored for the Purchase and Sale of a Business Deskbook (published by Minnesota CLE), explaining employee benefits issues to consider when selling or purchasing a small business.

 

February 2021 - Presenter, Defined Contribution Plan Trends and Insights.  Jewelie was a guest speaker on a 401(k) Plan Professionals webinar discussing 401(k) and 403(b) trends and insights.

 

January 2021 - Panelist, Qualified Birth and Adoption Distributions.  American Bar Association 2021 Tax Section Midyear Meeting (virtual).  Jewelie was part of a panel discussing qualified birth and adoption distributions from retirement plans, and the status of recordkeeper implementation requirements.

 

March 2020 - Presenter, SECURE Act Provisions - Church Benefits Association webinar to members.  Jewelie presented on SECURE Act provisions applicable to church retirement income account plans

 

January 2020 - Panelist, Administrative Practices Update.  American Bar Association 2020 Tax Section Midyear Meeting (Boca Raton, FL).  Jewelie was part of a panel discussing SECURE Act provisions impacting retirement plans.
